Chronic venous disease and its treatment

The aim of this article is to review briefly the chronic venous disease (CVD) – one of the most common diseases affecting population of

Western countries. The anatomy and physiology of lower extremities venous system are discussed as well as important disturbing factors

leading to loss of their function. The article furter dwells on conservative therapy of venous insificiency concerning mainly compressive

therapy and pharmacotherapy.
