Elderly patiens are more than twice as susceptible to averse drug reaction as younger patiens. These reactions are likely to be more serious
and extend hospitalization longer, that for a younger patiens. Changes with aging in body composition, and in drug metabolism,
distribution, excretion and response are the reasons for greater vulnerability observed in this patiens. Use of potentially inappropriate
medication in elderly patiens is a major health care concern. There is need avoiding medications with a high potential for averse events
and recommended alternatives with lower risc.
