Natural antidepressants

Mood disorders, mainly depression, are nowadays one of the most frequent mental illnesses. Although there are many antidepressants

with different mechanism of action on the market, in cases of mild depression herbal remedies can be used. The article describes

selected plants with antidepressant effect – Hypericum perforatum, Sceletium tortuosum, Panax ginseng, Rhodiola rosea, Magnolia and

Crocus sativus. Some of them are already used in the therapy, others may be used in the future. Some plants are available for sale as

dietary supplements.
