Treatment of pharmacoresistant epilepsy

The article deals with issues concerning the treatment of pharmacoresistant epilepsy. Pharmacoresistance and pseudopharmacoresistance

are defined. The basic principles of use of antiepileptic drugs in clinical practice are briefly discussed and individual antiepileptic drugs

and their general role in treating epilepsy are characterized. Surgical treatment is also a part of the treatment algorithm in pharmacoresistant

epilepsy.
