Menopausal symptoms and hormone replacement therapy

Climacteric problems caused by estrogen deficiency can be possibly divided into neurovegetative, organic and somatic. The basis of

prevention and therapy of these problems is hormone replacement therapy (HRT). To women with an uterus a combination of estrogens

and progestins is given, to women without uterus estrogens only. HRT should by given in the lowest effective dose in the shortest

possible time and should be individualized according to needs of patient. In the Czech republic many medicinal preparations for HRT

in different drug forms are available.
