Targeted therapy in treatment of solid tumors

In cancer treatment a number of procedures is applied, which are often combined. A surgical removal of the tumor along with part of
the surrounding tissue is a radical solution. Tumors with the sensitivity to radiation are irradiated with ionizing radiation. The pharmacotherapy
of cancer diseases includes conventional chemotherapy (cytostatics), hormone therapy, targeted therapy and anti-tumor
immunotherapy. The course of treatment and drug selection are always based on tumor type, stage of disease and the patient’s clinical
status. This article is focused on targeted drugs that have been used in clinical praxis of solid tumors „recently“.
