Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive and non-reversible optic neuropathy, associated with an increase in intraocular pressure which involvesloss of retinal ganglion cells and their axons which form the optic nerve. Clinically it manifests characteristic visual field defectsadequate distribution of nerve fibers. Glaucoma can be divided according to the etiopathogenesis of primary and secondary glaucoma.In this article, we mention glaucoma generally, primary glaucoma, acute angle-closure glaucoma and then diagnosis and therapyof glaucoma generally.
