Variabilita a využití silic z Eucalyptus spp.

Blahovičník (Eucalyptus) je známá léčivá rostlina, která proslula díky svým aromatickým listům. Silice z těchto dřevin se používá zejména k symptomatické terapii při zánětech horních cest dýchacích a má i výrazné antibakteriální a expektorační účinky. Silice z jednotlivých druhů rodu Eucalyptus mají ovšem velmi různorodé složení, a tak i účinek jejich silic je značně rozdílný. Některé obsahové látky jsou dokonce zdraví škodlivé a jejich použití je možné pouze v chemickém nebo kosmetickém průmyslu.
