Hoodia gordonii - natural apetite suppressant

With ever growing number of obese people in the world population the situation is often qualified as an epidemic. A severe obesity

is connected with many health risks so appetite suppressants are used among others in the therapy, but with many side effects. Pharmaceutical

companies therefore try to develop new medicaments without these side effects. Natural substances are very important in

such development; they can be used either directly or as a precursor or a model for new pharmaceuticals. The extract of Hoodia gordonii

seems to be very good for weight loss, its further research may even lead to a development of new, safer drugs with anorectic effect.
