At a time when the WHO puts an emphasis on every individual’s responsibility for their health, self-medication can be considered a positive
part of an individual’s health behaviour. Diarrhoea and constipation are common symptoms for which the patients visit a pharmacy during
self-medication. The pharmacist and pharmaceutical assistant should be the ones to guarantee safe and effective self-medication.
