Acute functional constipation: common clinical trouble

The main objective of this article is to give the present and possible future possibilities in the pharmacotherapy of acute functional constipation.

It is a relatively common pathologic condition in general population. Etiologically, there dominate the change of defecation

stereotype, improperly chosen diet, insufficient intake of fluids, and sedentary life-style. Besides the influence of these factors, also

laxatives play a very important role in its treatment and they are irreplaceable in standard therapeutic approaches.
