Ontogenetic development has its own specific features. A child's body is not a small-scale version of an adult's body. The present article
provides a brief overview of physiological peculiarities in children. These are most often encountered in the neonatal period and infancy.
The basic parameters of cardiovascular and respiratory systems including the composition of blood are also discussed.
