Therapeutic nutrition in children

Children belong to the high-risk group for the development of malnutrition. Particular attention should be given to hospitalized patients,

in whose malnutrition has serious consequences. The nutritional status is therefore required in pediatric patients to monitor and

initiate timely nutritional support. In case of the functional digestive tract enteral nutrition is preferred. If digestive tract can not provide

sufficient nutrition, parenteral nutrition should be implemented. Early initiation and correct management of nutritional intervention

influence the successful development and growth of the child.
