Treatment of pain in pregnant women is complicated and specific need for careful consideration of the expected benefit and risk not only for the mother but also for her unborn child and for the entire fate of pregnancy. Also techniques of pain management without the use of drugs are of greater importance. The paper gives an overview of information that pharmacists should like to know about the freely available preparations for the treatment of pain in pregnancy, but also regime recommendations and advice on what the situation has been recommended to pregnant women seek medical care.

Pharmacotherapy of prediabetes

Prediabetes is important clinical unit with defined diagnostics, pathogenesis and clinical picture. Prediabetes predicts onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus and it also means a significant increase in overall cardiovascular risk as well as a moderate increase in oncologic disease risk. Prediabetes thus warrants treatment; the therapy consists primarily of regime changes along with patient education, and the addition of pharmacotherapy using metformin is suitable.

Erectile dysfunction is defined as an inability to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. ED is commnon worldwide. ED shares risk factors with cardiovascular disease. Erectile dysfunction is a predictor of a serious cardiovascular event in men. Lifestyle modification (intensive exercise and decrease in BMI) can improve erectile function. Modern oral form of ED therapy by PDE5 inhibitors is safe and effective and is well tolerated. Drug-induced kidney injury

Iatrogenic nephrotoxicity is the cause of acute kidney injury (AKI) in 19 to 25 percent of cases of the overall rate of renal failure. In critically-ill patients with the presence of risk factors, the rate of medication-related AKI is reported to be 20–30%, of which 6% require dialysis treatment. The occurrence of drug-induced AKI in elderly patients is as much as 60%. Iatrogenic AKI is associated with a longer hospital stay, increased treatment costs, and higher mortality rate. The author is trying to point the essence and necessity of oral care, because through the proper oral care is possible to prevent many serious diseases. The article mentions the dental cleaning technique as well as the patient‘s cooperation with dental professionals. Consistent removal of dental plaque is essential to maintaining healthy periodontal and if we want to achieve this goal we have to use suitable dental tools.
