Terapeutické účinky Salvia officinalis

Salvia officinalis (šalvěj lékařská) a její silice byla a je označována za spolehlivý prostředek k potlačení prvních příznaků bolesti v krku, nosohltanu nebo zánětu dásní, kůže.

Článek je zaměřen na přehled terapeutických účinků Salvia officinalis, je doplněn některými provedenými klinickými studiemi k jejich potvrzení a na využití drogy v každodenním životě.

Pozitivně se šalvěj jeví pro své účinky antioxidační, bakteriostatické, baktericidní, antivirotické a fungicidní. Proto dochází k neustálému rozšiřování sortimentu fytofarmak, která ji obsahují, zejména v oblasti dermatologie a kosmetiky. Zájem o poznání dalších účinků této rostliny neutuchá, nadějně vypadá její efekt při léčení Alzheimerovy choroby.
