Urinary incontinence in elderly patients is one of the most frequent medical problems. Based on statistics it is more frequent than cardiovascular disorders, osteoporosis and malignant diseases. Around 10–40 % of elderly population is afflicted with this problem. It fundamentally affects the quality of the patient’s life. Urinary incontinence in elderly age is multidisciplinary challenge. The successful treatment depends on the cooperation of the urologist with geriatrist, gynaecologist, physiotherapist, nurse and especially family.

This article describes various treatment options, in the office and outpatient setting, as well as the use the newer devices available to treat haemorrhoids. This new devices such as the Liga Sure, PPH stapler and radiofrequency ablation devices were developed as physicians pursue the „Holy Grail“ of the treatment of haemorrhoidal disease, which is a painless haemorrhoidectomy. In the long term, cardiovascular diseases represent the main cause of morbidity and mortality of adult population in the Czech Republic. Concerning the numbers of distributed unit packs by ATC groups, cardiovascular therapeutics are the most voluminous group, constituting 20.36 % of total (1). The present article provides information on the properties and use of clotrimazole in the treatment of mycotic diseases of the skin and mucosae. The list of seasonal respiratory diseases includes not only the serious disease of influenza but also various other less serious respiratory diseases. Despite the similarity in the symptoms and the season of occurrence, influenza still remains a serious disease that, during a global pandemic, may cause tremendous problems in all areas of life and affect up to 50 % of the population. Some more trivial respiratory diseases also occur during this season; however, their occurrence, too, tends to be of epidemic nature.
