This article focuses on system of continuous education of British pharmacists. This system is compulsory and is regulated by the General PharmaceuticalCouncil and its Professional Standard. It is based on the concept of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Pharmacists areencouraged to undertake CPD in any area that leads to increasing quality of care and improved patient safety safety in their individual pharmacypractice. The „CPD cycle“ model is the fundamental tool for CPD participation and its recording. CPD can have any form, most commonforms include attending training events, self-directed learning, e-learning and reflection on one´s own practice. Although CPD has been wellimplemented and supported, GPhC is currently working on its improvement.
