Generally, the term of bacterial resistance refers to the ability of bacteria to survive a specified concentration of a given antibiotic. The current increase in antibiotic resistance is a serious problem, jeopardizing further use of antibiotics for treatment of infections. The prevalence of hyperuricaemia and gout is rising in the population. To reach target values of uric acid levels, optimal cooperationpatient and doctor is necessary. Along with diet measures, allopurinol from the group of uricostatics is one of the basicestablished drugs. In the indicated cases, it can be advantageously combined with lesinurad, a new preparation of the uricosuricgroup. Turnera diffusa, also known as damiana, is a small shrub from the family Passifloraceae originating from South and Middle America. This article discusses the ancient drugs for the treatment of various diseases that can be found in the biblical texts of the canonical and deuterocanonical books of the Old and New Testaments. Although the biblical texts – in opposite to sacred books of other religions – are practically not concerned with medicinal products, they contain a number of interesting case reports. An appropriate treatment of nasal mucosa depends very often on the correct specification of the disease agent and right choiceof medicinal product and complementary treatment. The exact incidence of diseases of nasal mucosa is difficult to detect.Rhinitis and similar diseases are one of the most common type of self-healing diseases (only with the help of a pharmacist or apharmaceutical assistant without the intervention of a practitioner or a specialist).
